Countdown to Christmas! +Free Printables

Since today is the first of December, that means Christmas is only 24 days away!
I decided to have a countdown to Christmas 'calendar/checklist/countdown'
I have created two copies, a fiversadventures one and a customizable one.

Below is the Fiver's Adventures Christmas Checklist!
Click the image below and save it to your computer to print.

You guys can get a pretty good look at what I'll be posting next by this countdown checklist. Check my blog (almost) everyday until Christmas for guidance on this countdown! There is no special order that I will be completing these. Lastly, have fun with anything on the list, many are open for interpretation!

Castile Soap

I realize I took quite a hiatus from blogging,
but I am back now with some new DIYs to share!

I though I'd just put a disclaimer, since I'm discussing a specific brand.

In my Foaming Soap Tutorial, I used a 2 oz bottle of Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap in peppermint. I finally got around to buying a 32 oz bottle of unscented castile soap! I love how versatile liquid castile soap is for DIYs. You can create shampoo, scrubs, cleaning products, and much more!

Easy Lotion Bars

Let's jump right into this tutorial today!
First, lotion bars (aka solid lotion) are more common in the Etsy and DIY world rather than in stores.
They are literally bars of moisture for your skin. If you think about it, it is like a brick of lip balm for your skin! By the warmth of your hands you melt the ingredients and rub it onto your skin.
It can also be poured into a tube and just glided across the surface of your skin, too.

I'm casting my lotion bars in cleaned yogurt cups today. Remember NO WATER can come in contact with any of the ingredients. Water does not emulsify with oils and can cause bacteria to grow.

Easy DIY Soaps

These soaps are extremely easy to make
and involve no lye, so let's begin!

You will need melt and pour soap base
You can find this online and in craft stores. These particular soaps did not work well for me, so I do not recommend them. This is my favorite soap base. You decide if you want a white or clear based soap; to day I'm using white soap base.

How to Make Foaming Soap

Disclaimer: I am not sponsored by this company nor was I paid to make this post.  I am not affiliated or associated with this company. This is my own opinion about this company.

This tutorial is pretty easy. I will be using Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap in Peppermint, but you can really use any liquid soap. I prefer this soap because as a face wash it is very refreshing. Just remember that regular soap may need more dilution for the foaming action to work!

Materials:
water, preferably distilled or bottled for a longer shelf life
liquid soap, any kind will do
foaming bottle, you can find them here
optional: liquid glycerin, for extra moisture
